Crouched Cougar 1

Description

This was taken at Cabelas; so yes this cougar is, in fact, a product of taxidermy and not alive. I must be blunt and say that I see NO true purpose to predator hunting; be it big cats like African lions all the way to bears and wolves. This could turn into a huge and unnecessary rant so let’s skip all that yeah?

Anyway I found this pose appealing and, since I had a chance, I took pictures of this one at a few different angles. I think there were 3 other cougars throughout the store but this one was by far the most intriguing pose they had…hence the several shots.

These photos are free for anyone to use as they please. So go ahead and use any one of these as a reference if you like. :meow:

Main reason they hunt predators is for population control or because they're posing a threat to people and livestock. It helps cut down on the spread of disease and helps to expand prey populations, as well. In short, it's a way of balancing out the ecosystem in a world where human intervention has already left a negative, irreversible impact on the environment.
And you can actually eat meat from them, but I understand it's an acquired taste. In many places where other game animals are hard to take, it's a main source of protein for people who cannot raise domestic stock.
